I bought a Summit Steel OEM oil Pan to replace the chrome pan that I had orginally bought. Now the pan from Summit did not come painted. Do I have to paint this steel pan or can I just install it on my engine without it rusting. part# SUM-G3500X

if it ain't painted sooner or later it'll rust. good chace you'll have a layer of oil on it in time and it won'treally rust. if it were me i'd paint it black.

 

If it's bare steel, yes. Just spray the outside w/ some good engine paint after you clean the surface good.
