Lo3 to built 350... few questions...
ok. i found my motor... it is a newly rebuilt 350 out of a 76 pickup truck... it has been bored 30 over and has a small to moderate cam in it... (noticable idle, but not ground pounder) anyway.. i want to keep my throttle body for right now... will it supply enough gas for this motor???
the guy at advance said it would, we actually looked at the 305 tbi injectors and the 350 tbi injectors and the 305's looked bigger to me... now i know that looks can often be deceiving....
i really need this tbi to work so i can save my computer and my overdrive (i've been told that if you switch to carb that the od is lost until you put some kind of kit in it and i can't afford that...) anyway...
how can i make this work...
afpr???
what...
thanks a bundle...
PS... if i need an afpr where can i get one...
thanks again
sorry it was so long

The guys on the TBI forum would be better able to handle your questions. Have you asked over there?

You will need to be careful in buy a used carb performance motor and try to run TBI on it. TBI is a speed density fuel system that does not like lumpy carb cams. If its just a lumpy cam is used with stock heads then it may not make the horsepower that it sounds like it has. The mid to late 70's heads were as bad as the heads on the TBI engines. Then there is the flywheel issue. 86+ motors use an externally balanced flywheel and the 85 prior doesn't. So you have to change the flywheel to use that engine. Your intake was designed for 86+ centerbolt heads which have a different bolt angle on the center intake bolts. So you will have to modify your intake to make it work or use the carb intake with a Holley carb to TBI adapter. This engine could cause more headaches than you have Tylenol. There are better options out there.
