To Build or not to build
OK first question. Should I build my 305 TBI or should I do a swap? I have a freind that will give me a 70's 350 w/4brl carb from an Elky. I was thinking of boring to a 383 and rebuilding with performance parts. Could my 5spd in my 91 Firebird handle that power let alone the rear end? What do yall think?

if you bore the 350 out to 383 the 5 speed won't have any problems with the extra power because there wouldn't be any, the cylinders would be into the water jackets. you need to increase the stroke to make a 383.

Well I would only go for the 350. Why bother pulling it out to just put it back in. The 350 will do more for you and is the better option in my eyes. HTH
