Big Block Chevy into 85 Trans Am!!!

I know some people have done big block swaps into thirdgen's before but I need to know whats involved. I will be putting a Chevy Big Block into a 85 T/A. What custom work is needed?? Which long-tube headers do you use??? Will a 700R4 Tranny work?? If not, which should I get??? Any other helpful info is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86

All third gens are the same. Camaro and Firebird are just different cosmetically. The way it fits in a Camaro is the same way it fits in a Firebird.

Search through the archives. There are lots of posts on doing a BBC swap.
