i am really confused on your wording but with that aside of course you can run the stock tpi setup on a 383...as to why you would want to do that though is beyond me since it's so restrictive.

what would be wrong to tpi a 383? I have a choice stick to the 305 or buy a 350, 383 or 400 since Im going to buy a new block i want the most i can get (cubes) that will work well with the stock tpi and will improve as I upgrade the tpi. will there be any change needed to be done to go with more cubes

Nothing other then a stock setup will work with a stock setup. If you a different motor you need to mod the computer, and go with aftermarket TPI parts for it to work right. It a waste of time and money to use stock TPI on anything other then stock.

Don't listen to these madmen!

I am about to make a SHOCKING statement!

Over the past month or two I have become a known advocate of the LTR intake. When people tell you that TPI won't breathe enough for a 383 they are in a sense absolutley right. That is, a stock TPI unit won't breathe enough. If you wish to keep the TPI I would strongly suggest upgrading it. Man, a worked aftermarket LTR setup is a badass intake. I would say that LTR's have to go when it comes to anything larger than a 383 tho. I'd say a superior LTR setup can breath a 383 but anything larger and you're pushing it. So this is what I would do; I am assuming you have some financial room to move. I would purchase an Edelbrock base manifold and runner set. Port out the the ends of the runners, and then portmatch both the plenum and base to the runner ends. Edelbrocks unit flows better by a longshot than stock, and the work you'll do will only make it better. You can then get the "e-bay" rebate by auctioning off your stock base and runners.

alright, all things considered..........how much can your modified LTR setup run with that 383?

how many rpm's will it see? how much horsepower will you loose?

not to say it can't be done, but why? if your putting the obviously large amount to go 383+ why limit your power with a restriction like the tpi intake?

not that i'm against saving money and using what you have, but building a good longblock only to restrict it seems a little odd.
