V6-V8 Fuel pump/Gas Tank

V6-V8 Fuel pump/Gas Tank
I am doing the v6 to v8 swap thing. The v6 is an 87 RS and the Donor car is an 83 Z28. The V8 I will be installing will have a Carb so It will not require the electric Fuel pump in the tank (Acting up anyway)
My Question is will the pick up from the gas tank of a carburated 305 fit into the Gas tank that is in the 87 V6. I don't want to run the electronic Fuel pump with a pressure regulator. Those pumps cost too much and I think the one that is in there is dying again anyway.

From what I understand, any pickup/gage sending unit will fit in any tank. Or, just swap the tanks between the two cars.
