Question about LT1 swap(wiring from inside the car)

Well, we plan on putting a lt1 out of a 93 z28 into a thirdgen. My cousin just got the donor car recently and I was looking at stuff and we were wondering what this box is. It is on the passenger side. It appears to have wires running to the aldl connector and under the carpet possibly to transmission or shifter(t56). What all functions does this box have. Is it necisarry for the motor to run or for the gauges or what?

Also, I am buying an LT1 out of a 94 Impala. It appears to have pretty much everything from under the hood from the intake to sensors to wiring to exhaust polution controls fuel delivery brackets and accessories. I dont think it has this part of the harness from inside the car though. Will I need this stuff or can I make everything work without it?

Thanks

Ben

looks like the ECM to me !, 93 as a wiring harness just for the engine. no abs on it, no airbags, computer is located on the passenger side near the heater fan.

The computer runs the engine, the gauges, the fuel pump, the fans, the tranny, shifter switch and the passkey along with other relays and modules.

Well, I what I believe to be the computer is under the hood on the back of the passenger side wheel well. If this is something different let me know. What I am referring to is inside the car behind the dash. Are you sure that 93's didnt have abs or air bags. Even the late thirdgens had air bags, and it appeared to have abs(it looke much more complicated than a normal prop valve). By the way good job on your car.

No, I said that 93 have a seperate harness for the engine alone, the abs abd the airbags are on different harnesses.

Ok, so that means it that the box will probably not be needed then right.

Thanks
