ok i'm really starting to think a lot
about swapping up to an 8
what could i or should i get and
what should i stay away from
i do not want a carb
i really like my auto start
esp. on these cold *** day's
that just will not go away

Engine: L92/LQ4 (both w/4" stroke)
Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Two words: "Donor car".
Find a wrecked or otherwise unusable TPI Firebird in which the engine compartment/drivetrain hasn't been hurt. You need everything that attaches to or feeds/supports the engine, and the tach. Change everything that is different.
More economic alternative: Sell your car and buy a factory V8 car with the engine you want. Unless economics isn't a prime consideration with your car, this is the best route.
