Which is better and is it worth it?
Im looking to do the LT1 swap. Im getitn sick of the v6 in my car, reliable, but just not enough power for me right now. Ive read all the posts on what seems to be invovled. and searched thorugh all the threads on here about it. looks like its not to hard to do. i was origianlly thinking Ls1 but i odnt have the funding nor the time to do all the custom work.
So correct me if im wrong, these are the main issues: wiring wich i can solve with a painless kit, a new fuel pump, i read somehting about the A/C not fitting but i didnt understand what that was about, i also read the pully system needs to be changed. Also im guessin since im going from v6 to v8 im going to have to change those springs.
Is this swap worth it? I'm looking to get the most bang for the buck outta this. How well does the lt1 respond to mods? I could just throw a tpi motor in there but what advantage does the lt1 have over the tpi? From what ive read im thinking the lt1 is the way to go. Any help would be appreciated, i know theres many of you that have done this swap. Are yous all satisfied with it? Should i wait for the ls1, toss in a tpi, or go with the LT1. and can the lt1 be pulled off in a weekend or so? Thank you all very much.

i'd say lt1 stock for stock just for the numbers alone........except i don't like the opti-spark.
go with a cheap but well running tpi and put a good intake on it with a nice cai and full exhaust and you'll have a very stout little runner for a good price. unless your getting a deal on your engine swap like lt1 or ls1 i wouldn't bother. way to many little things here and there that add up quick and cost a fortune for what they are. sure it's fun to say you have something like them swapped in but not if it's going to cost you more then a sbc build up would have.
