porting h.p.
How much h.p. could I gain if I get my heads on my 305 pocket ported. Engine rebuilt from an 81 chevy van, stock cam, intake off of my lg4 305 engine, edlebrock 600 carb. How much would this make all together? Thanks

If those heads are the ones that were on the van engine, not much. They've got tiny valves, which are going to restrict any improvement from the porting. If you still have them, you'd be better off porting the LG4 heads from your original engine.
If they are the LG4 heads, then pocket porting, along with 1.94" intake valves and gasket matching, would produce about a 10% gain. Assuming the exhaust system would support the extra flow (a stock LG4 exhaust system would not).
Real improvements come from improving and matching the entire system though - intake, heads, cam, valves, exhaust.
