In my local newspaper, in the classifieds their is an '93 LT1 w/ tranny for $1k obo...
Isn't that a pretty good deal.

Depends on the Miles on the motor...how its been driven..also the 93 has a few problems ..(unvented opti being one) They worked them out pretty good in 95. I would look at 95 and above. Or better yet a LS1.....What tranny was it T56 (6 speed) or auto? Buying a used motor is risky, unless you are willing to go through it to check things out. I made the mistake myself once on a used 327..ended up being nothing it was supposed to be.
The LT1/T56 in my 94 are a blast...but be prepared for high repair and part replacement..

Sounds like a pretty *** deal. I believe not all of the early LT1 engines had SFI. What did it come out of?
