carb or f.i.

ok heres the deal i need to replace my old 305. im upgradint to a 350 i just dont know what type of induction to use. i like the look and torque of a tpi setup. but i dont like the fact they kinda suck at higher speeds. i want something thats balanced. something with good low end torque but also with a decent higher end. which one would be suited to my needs? a tricked out tpi setup, or a carb setup? id like to know now so i can save up some cash and start pricing what ill need.

Im no expert but fuel injection
is gonna cost id say 3 times as much..
more parts ...
Easier with carburator & Airgap manifold.
Fuel injection ull need aftermarket throttle body,
runners, TPI base(bigmouth)?
Better chip..
I heard fuel injection doesnt respond well to wild camshafts..

If you already have a TPI setup you are better off tricking it out. You can probably get a set of siameased intake runners and a larger throttle body for less than a quadrajunk, intake, and fuel pressure regulator, etc. required for carb conversion. If you are in an emissions state FI is the way to go.

I have the L03, but I am keeping the L03 for now. However I am going carb. You can't do much to TPI to keep it from hitting the 5000 rpm wall. A carb doesn't have that restriction. A TPI setup will cost alot more, something like 700 dollars on ebay for a used complete setup. (TPI, harness, ecm, and distributor)

Stay away from the quadra crap unless you need fuel economy, but then why did you buy a fbody? Get a edelbrock/carter afb if you want it to bolt and go or a holley/demon if you want the best performance possible.

Personally if I was going 350 I would go with a LT1. Otherwise I would keep the L03, swap the heads for LG4/TPI heads, port them out, put in a more agressive cam, higher stall converter, and a weiand 142 blower. I imagine you would be moving at that point.

If you are still running on the 2.73 open rear and stock exhaust, fix them first. I would put sub frame connectors in also.
