hello everybody,im new here but i have already have a question. I have a TA 1985 whit a 305,1992tpi, that come whit a th-700 an the transmission is shot so i bought an another car for part that as a 5.l 4barrils and a manuel tramission that have 4speed .Well today i have taken the trnsmision out and i notice that the inpout shaft go in the crankshaft. The question is do the tranny will fit mi engine that as normally an automatic setup or i would have to have to have a machine shop put a hole in the crank for the bearing . Man i never be that worry please help me Lihgtli depress the accelerator all the way to the floor

 

All SBC crankshafts have the recess for the pilot bearing.
