TBI --> Carb...Fan switch?

As the title suggests, my 91 RS is going from TBI to carb (the post isn't about whether or not I should...I already am) and am wondering about the fan switch.....is the fan switch controlled by the computer right now? and if it is, what do i need to do?

I'd suggest reading the "Total Fan Control" article. It will answer all your questions and includes part #'s.

still a little confused though.....is the fan switch independent of the ECM (running off its own temp sensor or something...) or does it run through the ECM?

The Hayden switches he refers to run off their own sensor completely independant of the ECM. It sticks between two fins in the upper left corner of the radiator and secuses with the included parts in the kit. I've used the adjustable before on a 4X4 and was more than happy with the results.

so in that case i'd use the wiring that comes with the kit, or the existing wiring?

The kit comes as close to wired as you can ask for. IIRC it can be installed in less than 15 min with a pair of wire pliers. It doesn't get much simpler.
