Okay, I just bolted in the 350 from the 76 LT, Now I know I dont need all this crap, I've clipped all the wires going to the fuel injection and smog crap, but damn this is just crazy, how am I suppose to know what i need.
BTW all these wires are going into the fender and into the back of the engine somewhere and then spreading off a little then to what I think the computer is on the other side of the car.

Instead of going nuts with the wire cutters, you should have hooked up the things that you need/are the same: distributor power, tach (assuming you have one), alternator, choke, oil pressure, temp gage. Then, if you had carefully separated those from the wiring harness, you would have discovered that the rest of the bundle went in a neat package to the passenger side fender, where removing the plastic wheelwell liner would have exposed the pass-through to the kick-panel, where the harness can be separated in one piece from the car.
At least, I'm assuming there wasn't much difference from yours and my original V6 setup.
