Switching out rear ends?

I was wandering what the difference between an S-10 or S-10 blazer rear end and a Camaro rear end? I've been told they are the same thing. Is this true? Sorry if this is in the wrong section it's the only one I could think of it would fit. Thanks alot Boes

The only thing that is the same between the 2 of these rearends is the fact that they are both 10 bolts. The S10 rearend is a leaf spring suspesion rearend and the Camaro rearend is a coil with lower control arms and a torque arm mount. Totally different mounting. It will NOT bolt in. The only thing that might interchange, and I'm not even sure this is true, is the guts (carrier, ring and pinion, axles). I hope this helps.

Yeah, they're way too different to swap the entire rear out. They are the same "model" of rear though, namely the 7½" 10-bolt; so alot of internal parts do in fact swap, subject to year model differences (axle spline count); but externally, they are quite different.
