Inexpensive Rebuilt Longblocks w/ warranty
I was just "surfing the net" and found this site, something seems wrong with these prices these are all rebuilt long blocks with a 7year / 70,000 mile warranty, and they are cheap. I mean $1094 for a 400 ci '74 SBC ($175 core), and $954 for a 350 ci carbed SBC ($150 core).
Am I missing something or are these deals really good???? 427 BBC for $1453 ($450 core), and a 454 BBC for $1471 ($500 core).

Nobody, this is the cheapest place I can find and would like some feedback to make sure I didn't miss anything the first ten times I read it.
Thanks, Garrett

cheapie reman places are kinda hit and miss for performance apps...
it may be fine, it may not be... the engines are usually built in a assembly line manner.....
i have a good friend who bought a reman 400 shortblock (4 star motors or somthign like that) that he ordered thru NAPA... we slapped some heads he had on it, carb, intake, ect, and its been running great for about 2 years now.
but i wouldnt trust them if you were making any serious power... these are just reman cores ment to be plopped back into someones daily driver....

Cheap price = not very many new parts. At places like that they just slap a engine together with out checking any of the tolerances, they reuse any old parts they can including: valves, valve springs, locks, retainers and do the bare minimal machine work. Their meant for a daily driver to the store or to grandma's, not to be flogged. Droping a valve at 4000rpm is never a pretty sight
