i've a 1985 IROC, 305 TPI, automatic. i'm very tired of having an automatic. can anyone point me towards a book or website or anything that'll help me with research? i just want the cheapest way to turn my car into a standard. if that entails swapping the engine entirely, i'd do it. if it's not possible, or just impractical... just tell me... no flames, please.

i've done ALL maintenance work on my car, & before i got this car 2 years ago, i had no knowledge of cars at all. so while i don't know much about engine swapping now, i know that i can figure it out.... with time.

so right now i'm just wondering what's the cheapest & easiest way to covert to a standard transmission?
