Getting ready to build motor for 91'RS
Hey all,
haven't been here for awhile. got some questions for everyone. my 350 block is now bored .030 over. With my budget of 1500-2000 i now need to get heads, cam, pistons, intake and carb. for the pistons im lookin at KB hyper. cam lookin at comp xe268H. intake i wanna go with the EDDY performer. carb will be EDDY 700. anyone see anything wrong with this combo? also need suggestions for heads. cant really afford alum. right now so im not sure what to use for steel. i will be doing all the motor work myself. i work in a machine shop and have access to machining. i will be able to deck the heads and other little things myslef. thanks in advance for all the help.

You don't say what you're going to have behind this engine, or what the intended use will be.
Regardless, I wouldn't go with that carb. Holley/Demon so much better (despite all the claims about how easy the Performers are to tune - peanuts compared to results). I prefer Weiand intakes to Edelbrock, but that's more a bias than back-to-back comparison data. At any rate, the Performer would probably choke off the cam on the top end. RPM or Stealth would be better.
World S/R Torquers or Sportsman II's would be good iron choices. Or Pro Topline. Since you have machine shop access, port cleanup would be a very good idea.
Hope the budget holds out. Higher end will most likely be the reality.

Pro topline heads. they make more power than the torquers and sportsman 2s are a little large for a DD. I would recommend to 180cc pro toplines.
