What all do I need to convert my MPFI 2.8 to a carbd 350? I have the motor, tranny and the car. I read about people talking about diagrams and wiring harnesses and "common sense". I don't know much about wiring. Where can I find these diagrams that these guys are talking about, and what kind of wiring harness do I use. Do I need to replace the motor mounts on the front sub-frame? I want to do this right the first time, so I need to know everything that I need to know to do this swap. Oh, the car is an '88 with a 2.8 and an automatic. I have a carbd 350 and 700R4 to replace it with. I already know that I need springs, and a radiator. Any useful help would be greatly appreciated.

This question comes up at least once every couple of weeks. Look through the posts on this forum and you'll see more details.
Quick summary: You need a factory V8 donor car. There are a bunch a parts that need to change, and having an engine & tranny isn't even half the battle. You need to move the engine mounts on the front crossmember (and the brake line will be in the way), but you can use the V6 lower half. More important you need the half that goes on the engine, and the dealer doesn't sell them anymore (nor does the aftermarket). The tranny needs to be from a 3rd gen f-body or the torque arm won't have any place to mount. Without the computer you'll need some means to lock up the torque converter clutch. If you are going non-computer, you can use the V6 wiring harness, but you might need to stretch some of the wires (like alternator). Since I was going emissions-legal, I just used all the wiring from the V8 car.
The Haynes Camaro manual has a good set of wiring diagrams in it up to the '84 model year. I went to the library and got microfische copies of the '86 diagrams (25 cents a page to copy).
