ive searched the site and ive searched on line and i cant seem to find a site that talks about the specifics of motor swapping in cali the reason i want to know is that i got a crazy motor swap idea in my head and im not nessissarly going to try it persay but i would like to find out if i could do it anyways, so does anyone know of a website or something i could read up on to find out what i wannna know i would ask here but im afraid that some might laugh at my idea

Legal:

Install any newer engine than your chassis. Install all the emissions components that came with that engine. Get a sticker from the referee after a song and dance and 10 miles of red tape.

Some have said you cant swap to an engine that has higher emissions than what you pulled out (ie:truck engine), but I've never seen that in print, and I know people who have 'violated' that unwritten rule.
