Looking to swap a crate motor and I am seeking info on how much my current L98 is worth.

It has 40k on it and the long block is stock. It runs great however I am looking to get some real power. Any idea on what this longblock is worth ?

Maybe $500 with electronics if you find somebody that wants tpi.

 

I am only selling the longblock as I am keeping all my accessories.
Here in Houston I sold the original 305 TPI w/ computer (140k on motor) for 400 bucks.
I was hoping for 500-700.

 

If you want to sell it for that, i may be interested, any more info on the engine? Or maybe a shipping cost guess?

 

Its a stock L98 Long block. It has no mods and 40k from a wrecked 89 T/A. I do not have any documentation to back this FYI.
A buddy of mine wants me to just buy new heads and a cam however I am not a mechanic and I think the cost to purchase the goods and have them installed may equal selling the long block and purchasing a new crate motor.
I just had another kid so I will need to save a few more months to have the cash for the motor and install.
Will put the motor for sale on this site when it is pulled if you are interested.
Shipping is around 170 - 200 bucks.
