fuel pump question
I"m swappin a vortec carbed 350 into my 91 rs with a 305 TBI. I've ordered the mallory comp 110 internally regulated electric fuel pump. What do I need to do to hook it all up correctly. I've read stuff about leaving the in tank in...taking it out and stuff like that. I just need some instructions on what I need to do. Thanks for the help

make sure to install a fuel filter and regulator to keep the pressure around 5.5 however i dont have much experience with tbi 305 fuel lines i know on my carbed 305 i switched to rubber fuel lines from the mechanical pump to the carb...but it depends on the card whether or not it will be easier to use a hard line or rubber fuel line also keep the fuel line and filter away from heat to avoid vapor lock.
just out of curiosity why did you use an electric fuel pump instead of mechanical... Would it be hard to convert to a mechanical fuel pump or do you like the non power robbing electric pump?
It might be a little easier to plumb with a mechanical fuel pump unless its a bit*h to convert to with the fuel lines and such
But then again i have never realy worked on tbi fuel systems
One more question the tbi 305 originally came with an electric fuel pump?

yes the tbi has an electric in tank fuel pump. The pressure from it is too high. I am using a vortec engine which doesn't have a place to mount a mechanical fuel pump. I was just wondering how I hook up the internally regulated electric fuel pump I bought.

Malory makes a nice regulator ...runs around 80.00..It has a port for the return line also it circulates the fuel helping it to stay cool...
