Got a question

Hello I am 16yrs old and am looking to get a 3rd gen. Camaro and I got a few Questions.

What Engines Mods should I get done or should I just buy a short block and build the block all up myself.

Hey welcome to the boards. You should get a V8 3rd gen. You can use that motor to build up to what you want. If you have a choice look for a 3rd gen that has a 350 TPI. THis is the L98 motor and is the best performing engine that came stock in a 3rd gen. Also, mods go a lot farther on that motor than they do with a 305 V8 car. I hope that makes sense. I tried to keep things simple and to the point for you. You may want to try a search (at the top right of your screen) in one of the motor swap/TPI/TBI sections and see what some of the mods people are doing and what kinds if numbers they are putting out.

Your best bet for performance vs $ is to look for an 90-92 TBI V8 car for cheap and then do a little research and perform an LT1 swap, the tpi motor will just get you an empty wallet and shameful timeslips, even forced air most of em still turn slower times than LT1 4th gens and with the 90-92 you can reuse the T5 transmission and the speedometer wont be a big fight.
