Quick questions about swapping my TPI for a 650DP....

I just read the Tech article on doing this, but was wondering what some people did for the Throttle cable and TV cable brackets.....??? ALso, which do I need to use, an in tank low pressure pump, or a 3port regulator??? Anybody have a part number for either?? thanks in advance.....

Best bet is to find factory carb cables. Summit has the brackets.

You need a reg whether you use a TPI or low pressure in-tank fuel pump. The reg should be a 3-port type with a return port so the pump flows at all times. If you dead-head the pump, it'll burn out.

They discuss higher flow in-tank pumps over on the TBI forum.

thanks.....Im thinking of just going with the intank pump, as the one in my car is weak anyhow. People think Im crazy for doing this, but if they saw how much it costs to feed a FI 406, they'd understand..lol Besides, carbs are more fun..lol

You are going with a 406sbc with bolt ons and a cam ? I suggest going with a bigger carb, not that there will be night and day difference, but you will see more power out of it for sure.

well, the 650 Im using isnt an out of the box Holley. Im getting it from a fellow co-worker that used it on his 406 in his S10. He has done all sorts of work to it, smoothing out the venturis, etc. He was making about 550hp so I should be ok. If not, Im only out $75 ...lol I can get a 750 Holley if this doesnt work for me....
