350 crate engine
........Hey everybody.........I'm new to this forum. This is my first post. I have an 85 z28 with an lg4 305. I'm thinking of the 350/330hp deluxe crate engine. My question is, will there be enough hood clearance with the carb and intake on the deluxe engine? What e.ts. can I expect with the 700r4 trans. and 3.23s and will the unibody handle it? Is there anything else I should know? Thanks in advance..........Zapr.

Welcome aboard.
It's been done by several. Mr. Search Button will aid you in discovering their experiences.
There will be "issues". You'll need a drop-base air cleaner to fit under the hood, but that's not a biggie. The chassis needs subframe connectors (a V6 3rd gen needs subframe connectors). The exhaust currently on the car should go where it deserves to be - the recycle bin - all of it.
You might consider the base HO engine, get a Vortec q-jet intake, and use the rest of the LG4 induction and controls - would make for a good daily driver with some nice grunt. But, I'm extremely biased in that respect.
Low 14's to high 13's can be expected with slightly higher stall and some traction.
