With the cat, should it pass?

It should pass the sniffer with appropriate induction. If the sniffer measures NOx, the lack of exhaust cross-over passages to feed the EGR could become an issue, but the cam probably has sufficient overlap to keep them down.

Really depends upon what you've got for visual.

You really need to answer the question about the extent of visual inspection before any further meaningful information can be offered.

i live in MA and that motor will burn clean enough to pass. just have the cat(s) on there and it should no prob. are you running emo under the hood or just cats? what will you have for an intake (carb or FI) it will pass visual no problem, it looks to be like a stocker not like a bigblock swap or anything so you shouldnt have any problem there. what year is your car?

i see the sig says 85. they came carbed that year so if your going carb it wont be a prob on the visual, if you even get one. the place i go to just pops a sticker on. everytime i go back they never give me a sniff or visual. i dont think they really care actually

for ma inspections you need to have cat convertes and any spg eqipment that the car came with. PCV, EGR, Air pump. they need to be there (but there is no way to tell just by looking if they actualyl ae fuctioning. so technically you coudl have a block off plate under the egr valve and the inspector woudl most likely nto even notice. and yoru cat coudl be gutted. but there is no way to tell that from the outside.

i'm still trying to figure out if my new 355 is gonna pass.
