Inlet is the top drivers side, outlet ( it could be vice versa, but I mean it only goes on one way) is the bottom passenger side. The water pumps can be different, you basically just need the two big fittings on the water pump. Make sure you bleed the air out of the system. There is a bleeder screw on top of the thermostat housing (don't over tighten it, I got done bleeding mine and the bolt head broke off, I need to buy another housing now).
Are you letting it get hot enough for the thermostat to open? Now may be a good time as any to buy a new thermostat and radiator cap. Also be sure to pour the coolant/water straight into the radiator.
Not sure on the volt meter, it should be working if you spliced the big red wire from the thirdgen bulkhead connector into the power distribution. Make sure you splice the alternator plug wire into a "Hot when key is turned" wire or your alternator won't turn on.

Oh you mean as far as the heater hose. I thought you were talking about cooling the block down. You got me on that one man, I just capped mine off, im in Laredo, TX don't need a heater down here. TexasLT1 should be able to give you a hand on this one.
z91, do you have the vaccuum operated heater valve? If you do, the top hose from the water pump will go to that. If you hold your left hand out with your thumb pointing at your face and your first and middle finger pointing to your right, the water pump outlet will connect to your thumb, your first finger will connect to the metal hard line on the frame rail with the nipple that sticks straight up, your middle finger will go to the firewall. the bottom outlet from the pump goes to the other end of the hard line.
If you're not using the heater valve, top outlet goes to top firewall nipple, bottom goes to hardline like you have drawn on the diagram.

This is the valve your talking about right. yes i do have a vaccuum line that conn. to the valve. do i need this valve cause thats the vaccuum line i was trying to find out about. also on the hard line outlet i have a bypass hose going to the valve and a hose going to the radiator. do i need that hose going to radiator or do i plug up the radiator and hook it up to the inlet on water pump.
