hello ive got a 89 project firebird i am working on and i have a few questions. first of all when i got the car it had a blown engine swaped out of a 90s model gmc/chevy truck the one with the throtle body on the intake dunno if its got a specal name or not. i got a rebuild short block that im gonna beef up some (add cam/headwork) and when i went down to the performance shop to get some parts he told me that the motor wouldnt run with the stock throttle body and computer if i did any mods to the engine. well i had a feeling this would happin so i already took the time to look for a aftermarket throttle body to supply the bigger cam with more fuel, and he said that it wouldnt work because the comp isnt tuned for it and that i would have to get a new one burnt or take it out completly and go with a carb, and if i do this i would have to get a new dist. and all mechanical guages. well i was wondering if this is true or was he just trying to sell me more parts? if so then is there any way u can cut the throttle body off the computer so it can still work the rest of the guages while i use a carb? thanks for any help
