NewB Q....

Hey fella's Im new to the HorsePower part of Cars...And I was looking to Slap a Bigger motor in my 84' Z28...I was thinking about a Fastburn 385...How do these Engines hold up for Just cruising around on Weekends and maybe going to the track a few times just for fun... .....I figure that the 430 HP @ 6000 RPM is a pretty big upgrade over the little ol' 305... ....So guys tell me what ya think about this idea and feel free to give me suggestions and refer me to any other setups....Oh yea...the Motor will be Supercharged and perhaps even a Little Nitrous mixed in there somewhere... ...Please give your opinions...Thanx..

If your going to supercharge later you will either have to rebuild the engine with dished pistons, or run race gas. THe Fastburn 385 is a decent engine but pretty expensive. For your purposes it will be more then adequate and last for ever.

SLOOOOOOOWW down. Im assuming your car is stock, so that means at best, it has a L69(190hp 305). a 385hp engine is going to make a bigg difference compared to your 305. Plus your going to need to upgrade your transmission and rear end to handle the power if you are going to drive it hard. I would take it one step at a time, and worry about a supercharger, and nitrous after you get a new motor.
