wierd question
I have a 2.8 V6 T5, saturday im gettin a 5.7 TBI engine outta an 89 Truck. My question is that my T5 wont bolt up to the 350, can I temporarily stick a 700R4 in there and somehow ghetto rig the shifter to the floor? I really really really wanna drive with the V8, but I cant afford a T56 Right now. If I do that, do I gotta remove my clutch pedal n schtuff? Can I just put it in there without moddin the car too much so then I can put a T56 in when I get 1000 or so bucks?
Thx

1st, you need to get rid of that excess baggage hanging on your car.
You can put the automatic in, put a plate over the shifter hole, mount a cable-type shifter to the tunnel. Leave the clutch pedal in there if you like. Just run the safety switch to the shifter instead of the clutch.
You'll have to run tranny cooler lines and torque conveter clutch lock-up as well.
