In search of advice..
..I have a 1982 Trans-Am with a 305 Crossfire, the engine needs to be re-built or replaced and I would like to just swap it out for a 350. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if this engine here http://www.morethanjustpower.com/part.asp?id=6&c_id=1 is a viable option for me? I appreciate any input. Thanks

I don't think that will go under your hood....
Practically any 350 will just bolt right up under your existing Cross-Fire manifold and stuff. In fact Vettes came that way for a couple of years.
Of course, if you're looking for some half-decent performance, you wouldn't want "just about any 350"; and there's other things you would need to do to get the most out of a 350 (or out of a 305 for that matter).
Why do you think the engine needs to be rebuilt or repalced?

So..if I'm understanding what you're saying correctly then, say, this engine here: http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/Chev...8s/gen350.html -would be just fine for me, Yes?
Well, when the car is idling there's a distinctive knocking and when it's accelerating it gets much worse. I was told that either a rebuild or replace was needed. I'm far from mechanically minded, beyond checking fluid levels and changing fluids when need be I'm practically inept to be perfectly honest with you.
