Its Alive!! Ha Ha Ha!!

I finally got the dang thing started and running! It has been over 2 years since the motor came back from the shop. Way too long. And this July 25, will mark 2 years since I got the T/A. I have been waiting for this moment since the first time I picked up a CC mag back when I was 14 in 1984.

It is my first engine rebuild, and so far it seems to be in good shape (no evidence that I messed anything up yet).

I fired it up in the garage with open headers and rocked the neighbors. It was great!

No, the engine was completed in about two months. Its been sitting for two years waiting to be installed and fired up.

It is running hot real fast, (restricter too small) and I am dropping oil psi from flooding it to many times (un-tuned 700DP Holley). Timing needs set, and the nieghbor b1tched me out and used profainity today after I fired it up again in my garage with open headers! Cussed in front of my 3 little kids too.

Some people just don't know how to have fun!

It has been fun so far!

Better get that carb tuned fast, if your dumping in enough fuel to delute the oil you are also washing all the oil off the cylinder bores and that's not good, especially on a new engine!!!

It wasn't the Holley.

The new Napa fuel pump I used, had a hole in the diaphram (my fault not Napa's) and leaked past the actuator arm into the crank case.

Got another one. Problem solved.

Overheating issue was timing way too retarded.
