Speedomotive 415 shortblock? What do you think?

I was just checking around and found speedomotive 415 shortblock and was wondering what you guys think about it. For the price it aint bad. I was thinking on upgrading to the forged crank and H-beam rods. Like 600 bucks more. Havent heard of anything about them. Bore and stroke are alittle different than other 415's I have seen from Motown. Thought it was a 4.155 bore and 3.875 stroke. This one has bigger bore and smaller stroke. Never heard of 3.832" stroke. Its only a 2-bolt block so would it be safe to run 450-500 hp out of it? I was planning on AFR or Trickflow 195's and superram, maybe ZZ409 cam. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

415 Speedomotive

If I do go this route, do I need anything special (as in oil pan, water pump, mounts, other accessories) for the 400 block to make it go in my thirdgen?

Do a search, I wouldn't buy any assembled motors from them.

Unless you just HAVE to have the 9 cubic inches, why not just build a 406? Most of the 415's are simply offset ground 400 crankshafts, you offset grint them and use early 327 small journal connecting rods to gain that little bit of stroke. Remember, in the real world a cubic inch is worth about 1 lb/ft of torque and about 1 horsepower in a stout motor. so is 10 or so horsepower worth it? I don't think so, I built a 406 using the original crank and 2-bolt lower but I used ARP studs. My 406 is putting out more than 400 horsepower.
Just my 2-cents..

Thanks for the input. I am now thinking 383 or stout 350. I like the Golen shortblocks, and Huntsville shortblocks. If I go 400+ it will be down the road and maybe 454 world products block.
