Pre 87 Into A 87 IROC?
ok heres the thing,i bought a 87 iroc off my cousin and he ended up throwing a rod. so my being the smart guy that i am made a mistake.i bought a block from some mechanics and was told it was a 1987 305 from a car,ended up being from a 80-85 Truck or Car.the plan was to rebiuld the block and swith the tpi parts from the car to the new one but now i dont know if its even possible now.any thoughts on what can and cant be used ?

No problem. Only issue is the rear main seal type (2 piece), which requires an old style 153 tooth flexplate ('82-'85 3rd gen V8 is what to look for). Your current heads will bolt on fine, which is what the TPI bolts bolts to.
The truly "big" mistake part is rebuilding a 305 shortblock.
