Buying a Crate Motor
I am looking at crate motors for my 86 trans am and was wondering what I should get. I want to either supercharge or stroke it out to a 383 down the road sometime and I want to make sure I get one that i will be able to do so. I also want to use my TPI system. I have about 2500 to spend on the engine.

i started out w/ a budget of 3k, I ordered the 350HO which cost 2700 after shipping and tax(seeing I live in Ohio). The intake and headers put me back another 300, there went my budget. Right now I'm around 3500 spent, and its still not in yet!
I think I've got everything I need....
just remember you're gonna spend more money than you plan on, those trips to autozone or napa or whatever is in your area tend to get ya!
best of luck,
Brandon

I really do have about 3000 to spend but i want to spend at the most 2500 on the new engine because I need a new exhaust too but thats not what I'm really worried about right now.

Id copycat what Tobias is doing ...
You could do it for less, but you'll end up getting cheaper parts.
Get on your favorite search engine, and look for crate engines,
im sure you'll fing the 350 HO within the best deal .
