swap wiring questions
i got my gtp into the 12's. to go any faster now i need to do some major lightning of the car or spend a grand on each mod plus a new tranny. i got a good offer on it so im selling. i want to put a l67 gtp 3.8 into a 3rd gen. i already know it will bolt to a 4l60 and i know about the mounts being different. i also know about the clearence problem with the tb on the supercharger and i have a solution already. i know that i can have a custom pcm made. but i cant figure out how to wire it all. im sure ill need the gtp harness. but is there a way to or any companies that can swap the connections from the fwd trans to the rwd one? are there shift kits for a 4l60? is it possible to make the performance shift option work?

Buying a plug 'n play harness for that combo of car and powertrain is going to be tough. Paying for custom work tends to be expensive, the good guys' time isn't cheap.
As stated below, Painless may be able to help. If not, and you want to go it alone, Helms manuals or something else with a detailed wiring diagram will give you what you need to map out a conversion so you can DIY.

He said he's looking to put that type of engine into a 3rd gen.
There was a post a while back about putting a 4th gen 3.8 into a 3rd gen. But, you've added some more complexity.
I don't really know if 4T60E and 4L60E are similar in operation/control or not. You may be plowing new ground.

painlees is what i was thinking. although in my new carcraft they have an advertisement for custom bellhousings. i know a t5 would blow apart but maybe a t56 will work.

that i will have to call for. it really depends on what i find. i need a good body car that runs decent. i will be rebuilding the car while driving it. all the suspention, and some body stuff will be done first. then ill build the engine. if i find a stick car, then a stick will go in. same deal if its automatic. im not going to get my hopes up on a certain model. i have alot of the swap problems figured out. my buddy has a load of thirdgens so i have been measuring out everything. the mechanical i have no problem with doing. i just want to be able to move the new technology into the car without to much downtime figuring out what wire is fudging me up. deos the t56 and the 4l60 both have electronic speedometer provisions? that could make it easier if i get a wrecked gtp i can take the harness and cluster out and transfer it to the 3rdgen.
