LG4 - L98 Questions

I recently found a good deal on a used L98 out of an 88 Z28 with 88K miles. There are many EFI to Carb swapper guides but I am doing it in reverse. My car is an originally equipped carbureted car meaning no electric fuel pump and my fuel lines are on the opposite side. Will I have to get the fuel tank, pump and lines from the Z28? Or can I just use like a vortech inline pump? But then my fuel lines are still on the wrong side. Also will I need to pull the wiring harness from the Z28? Can I use/modify mine?

Are you dead set on going TPI? You might consider just putting the L98 longblock under your LG4 CC carb system. Very few issues to address.

However, if you really want the TPI, then take out absolutely everything you can from the donor car to put into your car. Including everything you mentioned. The harness is a great big one in that regard - forget modifying yours.

I’m undecided weather Carb or EFI I just putting numbers together to see witch would be better in the long run and more cost efficient.

Keeping the carb would certainly be easier, especially if you're already meeting the emissions requirements in your area. In the long run, the TPI would get better mileage.

If you are having problems with the fuel pump connections (easy) I'd forget about trying to wire the TPI yourself. LG4 has a significantly different connection to the IP harness than the TPI does. I didn't know this until I already have done 90% of the work otherwise I probably would have just tossed an LT1 in there (still might). Its going to be just as easy I think.
