need help on parts for 406 build
hey everyone looking for a little help I am getting started on my 406 build and am trying to make sure parts will hold up. not really looking for monster numbers just because of what it is going in. I have an 87 Iroc convertible. anyway boring 400 +.30 and going to 5.7 rods and low compression pistons. also Lunati .480 i/e cam. Heads I have now are just stock 400 heads 76cc, 1.94/1.50 i/e. I will more than likely either switch to Dart Iron eagles or Chevy bowtie heads. Was also thinking about trying out Superflow Aluminum ( http://www.hotrodsusa.com/store/product1949.html )heads from Ebay but need more cash for heads. anyway was just going to use stock crank and possibly a set of gm powdered metal rods. will crank and rods hold up? also was going to use keith black hyperutectics are these an alright choice? I have heard good and bad. Any hlp is definitely appreciated Thanks

what type of hp are you making? what did you use as far as rods and crank? just really want to make sure that motor will hold together. I will more than likely take your advice on pistons. Thanks

Im making close to 500 at the crank N/A and about 650 on nitrous. Im running eagle SIR forged rods, and a stock crank. Still a lil worried bout the crank but im sure it will be fine.
