Camaro RS V6 To 305 TPI Wiring Help
Hello All... I have a 1987 Camaro RS, that was originally a
V6/5-Speed car, but had a 305 TPI/700R4 tranny swapped into it. I think the previous owner that did the swap used some/or all of the V6 wiring cuz the Tachometer is way off. I want to fix that and fix any other parts on the wiring so it will be done the right way... How do I fix the wiring so the Tachometer is using the V8 RPMS... How do I check to make sure everything else in the wiring is using the correct V8 Wiring... Thanks for your time guys!

The problem is in the tach/instrument cluster. If you get one for a V-8 it will work...
It design of the tach is solid state and not ajustable, it reads "pulses" from the white tach feed wire from the engine. You might be able to get a translator, call Casperselectronics.com and maybe they can make one but it will probably be like $80-100.
Might be easier and cheaper to get a whole cluster...
