83' Trans Am to 89' Firebird

Could I use an 83' Trans Am as a donor car for my 89' Firebird. The Trans Am has a 350 and my Firebird is only a 2.8 V6. Would I have the parts needed to make the switch?

Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E

Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89

I'm not a 'Bird 'spert, but I would think things like digital instrumentation would be a problem.

You're also going the wrong way emissions-wise for a donor car. Technically, the donor needs to be the same year or later than the receptor car in order to be legal.
