2.8 carb to 2.8 mpfi

i have a 82 2.8 carbed camaro that the engine blew up in last week. i was wondering if i could put a 2.8 mpfi motor in from another camaro. what would have to be changed with wiring and fuel delivery?

a few connectors and a fuel pressure reg 3 way if you gonna go through the trouble get a v8. i have a 2.8 for sale

82sc, welcome aboard.

Although the MPFI is a nicer engine, you might want to just change out the long block - i.e., put your manifolds on the new engine. The entire wiring harness, all sensors, and in-tank electric fuel pump come to mind immediately if you do the whole FI swap, and there's probably more. You would be doing almost as much work as you would putting in a V8 in place of your V6.

In fact, this is almost how my story started - V6 car with bad engine, I was looking for a replacement V6 to get it on the road, and found a V8 that cost me the same as the V6 (happened to be MPFI) was going to cost. It was a no-brainer.

Of course, that was over 6 years ago, and V8 donor cars aren't as easy to find as they were then.
