Okay, Ive been searching for the magic answer to the problem of my anemic LO3. Im sure most of you have modded your car, and some have swapped engines. If you could go back, consider all you went through, and the results you obtained, what would you do? Im trying to decide on a direction for the engine. Keep in mind I have a small budget, I cannot spend $10k on the engine.

I'm happy. For now, anyway. 3rd time's a charm.
I'm an advocate for improving what you've got. This is especially true if emissions inspection is an issue for you.
There is a good case to be made for LT1 swaps, as long as the raw material stays available. LS1's are getting close to the same, but more work is required to install.
There is no doubt that more cubes provides more results more quickly. You can get your 305 to run very well, but it will never run as quick as the more cube engines can run.
You can do a whole bunch with $10k. You can do a lot with a lot less than $10k, too.

Swap to an LT1, I love mine and LT1's love the juice. Guy I know has a '95 that would run 8.5's on the motor and high 7's on the bottle, he was pushing a 180 shot in the engine and never had a problem one.

I would go with the 383, but dont put the TBI on top. Throw on a nice speed demon carb or something. Also, have you considered the mighty LS1 swap? I guess you have to start narrowing it down by your price range....
