Help with transmission (Wont go in)
I just bolted my motor in my iroc but I cant get the transmssion to go to the motor. It lines up but it is like an inch and a half away from the motor but it wont go foward. The crossmember is off but the torque arm and driveshaft are still in. Is this why I cant get it to go to the motor? It is jacked up and I just cant get it to go anymore.

Verify the torque converter is engaged in the front pump properly. It needs to be well back from the bell housing mount plane.
Make sure everything is axially aligned as well. And nothing is hanging down inbetween the engine and transmission. An inch and a half sounds like more than the alignment pins, but you need to be sure. Could be the nose of the TC isn't aligned with the crank.
Do you have the engine mounts bolted in already? If so, I'd take the driveshaft and torque arm off and try manipulating it without those things constraining the process.
By the way, why was it apart?

I got the transmission in we just had to lift the block up and pried the tranny in with a bar. Im the one doing the vette motor swap and this is the first time i am doing a swap on my own car so its taking some time for me to do it. The motor and tranny are bolted in the wireing is getting done now then i have to bolt up the y pipe and do some other things. I will keep posted if i run into anymore problems which i will. Thanks
