LG4+T10 -> 350+T-10, many q's

I pulled out the LG4 shortblock tonight, and this is my first dealings with a standard tranny setup, so i'm very unfamiliar with that. Also other things, so here's a handful of questions for anyone who might know:

1)The oil pressure sending unit on the LG4 looks like:sending unit. There are 3 threaded connections, and only the single spade connector was ever plugged in (i'm guessing that's the gauge connection). Can I just remove the rest and plug the bulbous part directly into the motor and toss the rest? anything on the threads for this, sealant, teflon tape?

2) throw out bearing;
TO
is this what it's supposed to look like? looks like it has extremely worn splines on the inside. Is it ok to reuse or no?

3) The previous owner said he did the clutch right before I bought the car (which explains why the clutch to flywheel connection uses 6 different styles of bolts with different amounts and styles of washers.... geez...), so it'd only have maybe 1000miles on it. Is there a "spec" to tell me if the clutch is still good? should I get the flywheel resurfaced or anything here?
Should any of these bolts have loctite or anything on them during re-assembly?

4) I heard motor mounts are specific right to left, but I can't tell the difference on the motor side bracket, are those interchangable but the clam shells on the k-member not or...?

I'll think of more very soon, but any tips on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

The big bell shaped part is the gauge sending unit. The other bit is probably the oil pressure switch for an electric fuel pump. If you don't need the pump switch, you can use just the gauge sender when you put it back together. You'll need to use the nipple and elbow to get it to fit.

The motor mounts on the K member are interchangeable, the clamshells on the block are different. The part numbers are stamped in them, you can search to turn up which side is which.

so far so good, got a new TO bearing.

the search function isn't all that useful now, I can't find anything about the motor mounts... One has a stamped # on it, the other has nothing. I swear they look the same, but i'll keep searching...

I used the elbow and the bell shaped oil gauge, should fit.

clutch seems to be good, i'll re-use it.

getting the motor mounts off the k-member is pretty tricky, how do I get them off? I've searched but it just seems to be very difficult.... Can I drill a hole in the k-member to get a socket on the nut from below? Or would that significantly weaken it?

That'll be the RH bracket, you're probably missing the first 2 digits. The part number is 14039436.

The LH bracket if it's original should be 334970.

As far as getting the mounts off the K member, use some creativity, patience and every U-joint and extension you have in the toolbox until you get it.

wowza, you rock, thanks!

Actually, I just found out some guy mentioned it's easier if you remove the front springs... lo and behold, that's a perfect opportunity to put in my new springs then... why not eh?

whoa..... I just painted most of the engine compartment, then it started to hail, so I closed the garage door and turned on the heat, and keep working on the motor.... now i'm feeling really light headed.... I think i'm going to go lie down for a while....

one my drivers side cylinder head, I have the temp sensor, going to the gauge.
on the passenger side hole, there was a plug with a white plastic tube coming off of it...? What is that, and should I put it back, or use a pipe plug?
