Any LS1 swappers with AC?
I am just in the flirting stage with an LS1 swap but it must absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, must have AC. Any of you LS1 swappers use stock (3rd gen, 4th gen, Vette) AC parts and make it work?
If not, what did you do?
Please post pics as well.
I was thinking of putting in an LS1 and painting the runners the color of the TPI as a nod, if I was to go through with this.

I'd also like to know how hard/easy it is to keep the A/C. Is there an easy way to relocate it to the stock 3rd gen position, or is it easier to make new lines? How do you make new lines?

I'm in the process of doing this, so I'll be happy to keep you posted.
The 4th compressor won't fit in the stock location on the 3rd gen cars without notching the factory cross member.
F-body motorsports has an LS1 install guide to their project car. They show you the crossmember notching they did, it's really helpful
you can also buy an aftermarket crossmember if you wish. Places liek Hawks 3rd gen sells them...
Or, you can order a 3rd gen compressor relocation bracket (this is what I did) from f-Body motorsports.
I am still waiting for my bracket ot arrive so I don't have a definiitive answer as to how it works/ fits yet but I can keep you posted.
I'm in so cal so I too need the AC

Cool, I didn't know there was a relocation bracket available. What belt do you need, and do all the A/C lines line up with the stock lines??
Isn't F-body motorsports formerly 3rd gen resource?? If so, you may be waiting a while if what I've heard about them is accurate.

I dont know if they are the same, but I do know it takes them a LONG time to ship stuff the have 'in stock' and the fuel kit was pretty pricey.....but they were the only ones that had it, so thats how it goes.

I haven't received the "kit" yet. As mentioned above, these guys are not fast shippers. My first order was completely forgot about ,and when I went to follow up 2 weeks later, the order never was in the system! It doens't help travelling all the time for work. When I get back I hope they'll be there waiting for me. I'll let you know at that time which belt is supplied with it.
