I have an opportunity to buy an 04 5.3 motor from a Tahoe with only 8k miles on it. It's a complete package including trans and accessories, ecm, harness etc, etc. I'm just wondering if I can use this ECM by reprogramming or do I need an f-body type ecm(I have seen that a 99 fbody is the "preferred") This will be going into a 92 RS car and will be programmed with LS1edit and dyno tuned when complete. Also, will a Walbro pump be enough for this swap or do I need to buy the aeroquip pump for it. I plan to try it without a return line so I'm not sure which route to go. I may or may not use the 4l60 just because I don't want to break it. I already have the 9" and an extra th350 along with all the other go-fast stuff I've accumulated.
Any good suggestions or critisism's?? I can get the whole package for $1800 so I feel the deal is sweet enough and it will make the car SOOOOO streetable and even bring it to sleeper status if I lose the cowl hood.... thanks in advance, Bill
