Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 1992 Camaro rs 305bi with knock, so i bought a donor motor and trann.

Ok i just bought a 1992 Chevy Caprice 305tbi motor with its stock trans...There both have been rebuilt..Picked it up....My question is this...

1) Will the motor and the tranny from the caprice bolt right up to my 1992 Camaro. rearend..I dont know if the (yoke) or the gear at the end of the trans will work with my camaro?

2) If the trans does not fit from the caprice , could i put the caprice motor with my 700r4 trans from camaro.??

Thanks everyone whom ever replies.

The tranny should be the same between the Caprice and the Camaro. You may have to swap tailhousings in order for the torque arm to mount from the Camaro onto the Caprice tranny - but both should be 700R4 trannies, same length, same driveshaft, etc. - just measure the two to verify since you have them both right there.

You can also take the Caprice motor and bolt it right up to your existing tranny.

So ur sayin that I can in fact take the 1992 Caprice Motor and bolt it up to my existing Transmission on my 1992 Camaro.

And take my old motor out and and put the new motor in.. Correct

Yea, I think you want to stick with your old trans, as far as tailshaft & torque arms go.

I'm also thinking your current trans has a specific bell housing angle... But maybe that's just the standard trans...

it's easier to swap in a motor with trans attached, then trying to mate them up, while under the car. That's tricky!

you can pull your existing trans, attach either one to your new motor, and put it under the car. If your new trans uses an electric speedo, rather than cable driven, that's the issue he's talking about.
