tpi electric fan/shroud for swap!?!?!
tpi electric fan/shroud for swap!?!?!
I've got an 84 t/a, originally carbed, and I swapped a PMD 400 into it and I've got everything working except I don't have a fan of any kind right now. My old carbureted 305 used a mech fan, and I want to switch to electric. TPI cars I've seen had a dual electric fan setup which should be a bolt on for me, and include the shroud, but it's obsolete everywhere, only the motors are available, and I can't find anything aftermarket. My local boneyards are no help at all...one even sent me a tbi fan w/no way to mount it. I could use any number of universal fans but I dont like the cheezy way they install, the tpi fan/shroud would look much nicer and hold my radiator in place. I gotta believe I can get one somewhere! Anybody got any ideas?

you also have the option of the single electric fan setup offered in many 3rd gen cars. They will be more plentiful in junkyards and classifieds than the dual fan setup. They were offered atleast as early as 84 with the L69 engine and I believe they discontinued use of the mechanical setup altogether sometime around 84 or 85.
