hey ive been waiting on funds and now have come to a point where i can get my 89 iroc running it has a l98 in it with a bad knock so im just goin to replace it. now from what i understand this engine right here is a direct replacement http://paceperformance.com/index.asp...D&ProdID=42913 is that correct? also im having trouble figuring out the other parts i need to complete this. I will be having the heads redone and would like to also get a new oil pump and pan because the oil from the current engine have some shavings in the oil and i dont wanna have to worry about the pump. So with the exception of the heads what do i need to complete this engine also ive been looking at the LT-4 Hotcam for this whats your opinions about that combo.

well,
you'll need a full gasket set, your cam and lifters the hot cam looks great!), a timing chain (don't skimp here cloyes is who i trust), a timing cover (old one is probably "tweaked from overtightening), new head bolts, retune or remove the computer (i didn't say that), you can reuse or replace everything else as needed.
